First launched in 2022, the series of Ultimate Guide Books has now reached 13 volumes with the 14th due in January 2027. So, it was about time I officially recognised the publication of these books with a Scalextric model. The car is decorated with the style guide elements of the books and all cars will have a recurring theme of ‘MARSHAL’ cars.

I’ve chosen a good British staple, a Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 in plain white to start, what I hope will be, a series of very limited edition cars – one representing each book. These are known as CODE 3 models adapted from original Scalextric models.

The car, limited to just 20, is decorated with:

– ‘THE ULTIMATE GUIDE 9th EDITION’ titles reflecting the book’s front cover.

– ‘TRACK MARSHAL’ on doors and bumpers

– Roof light bar (not working)

– ‘SUGB.co.uk’

– ‘S1’ on the roof. This is the letter and volume number shown on the spine of the book

– ‘ 26-01’ (on the roof) indicating the total number and the number of the car within this Limited Edition series. This makes EVERY CAR UNIQUE!

– Red and white ‘kerb’ stripe on floor sills.
